Our Mission

A Vision for Renewal

Community upliftment through sustainable solutions — developing a blueprint that can be rolled out to communities across South Africa.

Vision & Passion

To break the revolving cycle of poverty by developing the full potential of a community’s greatest asset — its people.

The Truth Foundation was established as a Non-Profit Company in 2022 and obtained Public Benefit Organisation status in 2024. Our vision is community upliftment through sustainable solutions, and the development of a blueprint for future roll-out to communities wherever the need is greatest.

Beginning in Limpopo

Our initial focus addresses the unique needs of a specific impoverished community in the Limpopo Province — ranked among the poorest provinces in South Africa, with an estimated 78–80% of the population living in poverty and some of the country’s most unequal wealth distribution.

The reality is that the people of Limpopo are becoming poorer, and the provincial economy is shrinking, excluding more people from economic opportunity. This revolving cycle of poverty needs to be broken.

Yet with a population of 5.8 million and a land mass rich in environmental assets, the potential is extraordinary. When people are developed alongside those assets, an economic renaissance becomes inevitable.

“The way to get started is to quit talking and to start doing.”
People, Not Profit

A Plan Owned by the People

If people are placed above profit, a plan can be devised and implemented to develop the maximum potential of the province. We believe this plan should be designed, structured, packaged and implemented by the people of the province themselves — not waiting on someone else to change the destiny of this resourceful region.

We quickly realised that community upliftment is seldom a case of one solution fitting all. “Community-centred engagement” is widely quoted in philanthropy, but true effect takes root only through long-term commitment. Generating sustainable solutions requires a longer, more intense process — it cannot be achieved with a “hit and run” approach.
